Ground Turkey Vegetable Soup

This soup was fast and easy and used ingredients I already had on hand. I love ground turkey for many reasons, but you can replace it with ground beef if you would like.
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 lb lean ground turkey
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped celery
1 onion, chopped
4 cups beef broth
2 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 cup frozen peas
1 cup frozen corn
1 tablespoon fresh basil, minced
2 tablespoons ketchup
salt and pepper, to taste

In a large stockpot brown the ground turkey over medium heat.
Add the carrots, celery, and onion and saute for 5-7 minutes, or until the vegetables start to get tender.
