Orange scented rice pudding w/ pears recipe

You could either use pears or apples for this: I did both, and they came out just fine (: Dont forget to rate and comment ^^.

2 1/2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup rice: uncooked
1/4 cup confectioner sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp grated orange zest
1 (For the compote:)
1 pear, peeled,cored, and cut into chunks
