Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie

Ginormous, soft, and thick cookies filled with miniature chocolate chips.

1 cup (equivalent to 2 sticks) butter, room temperature
1/2 cup shortening
1 and 1/2 cups dark brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
5 and 1/2 cups, plus 1 tablespoon, plus 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour (sorry)
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips
