Royal Raspberry Cake

This recipe is from my mom's collection. It's one of my favorite cakes! It's especially good with fresh raspberries.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. baking powder
3 and 1/2 cups raspberries (whole; fresh or frozen)

Glaze:
1 and 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 Tbsp cream
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream softened butter in mixer; add sugar gradually until mixture is light and fluffy. Add egg; beat one minute. Add milk and vanilla alternately with dry ingredients. Spread batter in a greased 9x13 pan. Spread raspberries evenly over top of the batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
