A flakey, buttery crust encasing a filling of sweet, tart, and tender apples wrapped in caramel and finished with a touch of sea salt.

Double Pie Crust:
2-1/2 c. all purpose flour
1 c. unsalted butter, cold and cut into cubes
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 to 1/2 c. iced water
Apple Pie Filling:
6 to 7 apples, peeled and sliced
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. sea salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
4 tbsp. heavy whipping cream
4 tbsp. butter
