This hearty soup is a family favorite. Tons of flavor and the slow cooker does all the work. Perfect for those cold, dreary days!

6-7 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 onion, diced
4 cups chicken broth
5 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup butter
Salt/Pepper (to taste)
1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
1 cup whipping cream or half and half
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
