Slow Cooker Pork Roast French Dip

So I hate to admit this, but up until a couple months ago I had never had a french dip... I know crazy!! So last Sunday I made a pork roast and we decided that we should make french dips with it, and it was soooo good! My kids loved it and they both had seconds, which for my youngest is rare! If you are looking for a different take on the french dip, this will not disappoint!

1 pound pork roast
1 cup water
1 Tbsp minced onion
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp season salt
6 Hoagie buns (we like the whole wheat hoagies from the deli)
6 slices of provolone cheese
6 Tbsp Mayonnaise (optional)
1.1 oz packet of Aus jus
3 cups water
Put the pork roast in the crock pot with the water and the seasonings, let cook for about 5 hours, we put it in before we go to church on low and then put on high when we get home for a couple hours. You...

Marinated Taro Root

A marinated snack that can be used to replace late night bad habit cravings!

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
