Spicy Hummus Recipe Dish

The hummus becomes a tasty, spicy meal in this dish. Healthy, tasty, and oh so satisfying. It will be a winner at your table.

1 cup chickpeas (dried or canned)
1 cup tahini sauce (sesame seed puree, available in specialty food stores or the international section of
large groceries)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
½ teaspoon cumin
3 crushed garlic cloves
½ teaspoon chili powder
pinch of salt to taste
olive oil
parsley leaves
slices of lemon
If using dried chickpeas, soak overnight. Drain, add fresh water, and simmer until tender, about one hour. Drain. Put aside a spoonful of whole chickpeas for garnishing and mash the rest. Add tahini sauce, chili powder, garlic, cumin, salt, and lemon juice to chickpeas and using a blender or food processor, blend to a smooth paste. Sprinkle top with olive oil and garnish with whole chickpeas, finely chopped parsley, extra chili powder and slices of lemon. Enjoy! :)
