1 box Betty Crocker carrot cake mix ( prepared according to package directions into a 9x13 cake ) 8 ounces cream cheese ( softened ) 1 1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) butter ( softened ) 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar 1 tablespoon vanilla 16 oz. Cool Whip 1 cup chopped walnuts
