Gongura Pachadi is a very popular and authentic dish of Andhra Pradesh. In Tamil, Gongura is called Pulicha keerai because of its sour taste. Its made of fresh Gongura leaves and spices. Spice, sour are the main aspects of the dish. This recipe is easy to make.

2 tsp Mustard seeds
1 tsp Coriander seeds
2 tsp Cumin seeds
to taste Salt
5 Red chillies
5 Green chilies
1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
4 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp turmeric
bunch Gongura
15 Small boiling onions peeled
1/2 cup chopped onion
20 Curry Leaves
to taste Oil as required

  1. Wash gongura leaves and boil them in a vessel (add little turmeric)till the leaves become soft.
  2. Wash the green chilies and boil them in a vessel till the chilies become soft.
