Tropical Slush

404

This slush is DELISH. It is the perfect thirst-quencher for a HOT summer’s day. Fancy it up by serving in hollowed out pineapples. This makes enough for a pretty good crowd (serves 20-24) so if you are making these for a smaller group you may want to half the recipe.

1/2 gallon lime sherbet
1/2 gallon pineapple sherbet
2 liters 7-up
6 oz. frozen pineapple juice
6 oz. frozen limeade
7 1/2 oz (1/2 can) Coco Lopez Cream of Coconut
Mash together until sherbet is softened and slush-like. Serve immediately.

Skip store-bought cans, because you can't beat the sweet, savory and smoky taste of homemade baked beans with bacon and molasses. The old-fashioned beans cook slowly in the oven for hours, developing a rich, thick sauce. Baked beans from scratch are the perfect side dish for your next cookout or potluck, and a simple lunch or dinner entrée when paired with cornbread or Boston brown bread!

1/2 lb. bacon
1 medium onion
1/2 c ketchup
3/4 c molasses
2 T apple cider vinegar
2 t dry mustard
2 c chicken broth
kosher salt and black pepper
