Bring the bakery home with this apple toffee cheese Danish.

•1 - 17.3 ounce package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed (2 sheets)
•2 tablespoons butter
•2-1/2 pounds cooking apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced (about 7 cups)
•1 cup granulated sugar
•2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
•1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
•1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
•1 - 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
•1 egg
•1 teaspoons vanilla extract
•1/2 cup toffee bits
•1 tablespoons milk
•2 tablespoons coarse sugar
