These buttery cookies with toasted pecans and brown sugar would make a great addition to any holiday dessert spread.

1 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
1 cup butter, unsalted, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar, plus 1/3 cup for rolling
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
