Cherry Eggnog Scones with Almond Glaze

Around Thanksgiving and Christmas I love to use cranberries and Eggnog is readily available. I developed this scrumptious scone to satisfy my cravings. Enjoy!

3 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp kosher salt
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup cold butter or margarine
2/3 cup dried cherries or cherry craisins
2 eggs, beaten
5-6 oz Eggnog
Raw sugar (Turbinado sugar)

Almond Glaze
1 cup powdered (confectioners) sugar
2 Tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2-1 tsp almond extract
