Chili Roasted Sweet Potatoes

What makes this recipe different and special is the addition of chili powder. The spicy tang chili powder brings makes the sweet potatoes less overtly sweet, which is one of my objections to sweet potatoes and squash. I don't want my dinner to be sweet. Yielding the perfect balance of sweet, spicy and salty and on your table in a flash, make these for Thanksgiving if there are no objections from your (sweet) family.

2 lb. sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 1" cubes
1 T. olive oil
1 T. chili powder
1 t. brown sugar
1 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper

A marinated snack that can be used to replace late night bad habit cravings!

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
