For the cupcakes:
1 cup (128g) plain flour
1/2 cup (40g) cocoa
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup (113g or 1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup (100g) caster sugar
1/2 cup (100g) dark brown sugar, packed
2 eggs, at room temp
2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup buttermilk
For the Dark Chocolate Buttercream:
1/2 cup (113g or 1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup icing sugar
1/2 (40g) cup cocoa
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
80g dark chocolate, melted and slightly cooled
4 Tbsp thickened cream *
