Chocolate Six Step Dessert

262

This is an old family recipe that my mom calls "Six Step Dessert." I have had this recipe since I was a kid! Every single time my mom makes this for a family event or potluck, the pan always comes back empty. We always had it in the summer because it is a "cool" dessert, but I am sure it would be eaten all year around!

12
2 C flour
2 sticks of butter, melted
1 C chopped pecans
1 8-oz package of cream cheese
1 ½ c powdered sugar
12 oz container of Cool Whip
1 large pkg of chocolate pudding mix
3 cups of milk
Mix together flour, butter, and pecans. Press into bottom of 9x12x2 pan. Cook at 350 degrees until light brown. Cool 30 minutes. When the crust has cooled, ombine cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1 ½ c cool whip in bowl and mix until creamy. Spread on cooled crust. In another bowl, mix together chocolate pudding mix and milk until thick. Spread on top of cream cheese filling. Top with cool whip and chopped pecans and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
