Chocolate Whole Wheat Waffles

These waffles taste great though! Whether or not you are a whole wheat fan, you will probably love these waffles! They are perfectly chocolaty (not too much and not too little) and are great with a little bit of butter and syrup or just plain for snacking

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup cocoa
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 cup milk
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 TBS vegetable oil
3 egg whites
1/8 tsp salt
Optional: 2 TBS mini chocolate chips
Preheat the waffle maker to your preferred temperature. I like moderate temperatures for these waffles (on my waffle iron it would be "3" out of 5). Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl until well mixed....

Marinated Taro Root

A marinated snack that can be used to replace late night bad habit cravings!

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
