Chole(Chana )masala


Chole / channa masala recipe is popular vegetarian dish throught North India.In this easy recipe,chickpeas are cooked with onion,tomatoes and other traditional indian spices to make it a delicious resturant style curry.This home made curry can be enjoyed with nan,bhatura,roti , pooriand rice.

1 cup white chickpea
2 red ripe tomatoes(purée)
2 chopped onion
1tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 green chilli chopped
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
1/2 tbsp red chili powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
4 tbsp cooking oil
1 tbsp (or as per taste) salt
2 tbsp Chana masala powder
1/2 tbsp Gram masala powder
1. Soak the white chickpeas in water overnight or for 6-7 hours. 2.Heat cooking oil in a pressure cooker ,add onion and sauté until it turns light brown or for 2-3 min. 3.Add ginger garlic paste and chopped green chili and sauté for 1 min. 4. Now add all the above listed spice powders ,salt and mix well with onion,followed by add tomato purée and cook for 3 min. 5. When tomatoes stats to cook add chickpea and mix well . 6. Add 3 cups of water and mix well with the the chickpea masala. 7. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and cook for 20 min or for 7 to 8 whistle Until the Chloe are cooked well. 8. Once the pressure cooker cools down open the lid and add chopped coriander leaves and boil for one min and transfer to the serving bowl. 9. Now the chole masala is ready to serve .
