Cinnamon Apple Pie

My husband loves apple pie and baked apples. This recipe combines the flavors of baked apples with the cinnamon syrup into a pie. Makes my husband and the rest of the family happy every time I make it.

5 Granny Smith Apples peeled and sliced thin
1 tsp lemon juice
1 stick butter
1 ½ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
¾ cup brown sugar
¼ cup granulated sugar
3 tbls all purpose flour
2 crust pie crust
1. Place sliced apples in a bowl of water with 1 tsp lemon juice to help them not brown 2. Place bottom crust in a deep dish pie pan 3. In a medium size sauce pan melt butter over medium heat 4. Add sugars and spices to the melted butter and stir until melted 5. Cook until starting to bubble 6. Add flour and stir until completely mixed and starting to thicken 7. Remove from heat 8. Remove apples from water and stir into the butter and sugar mixture 9. Add apples and sauce to the pie pan and top with second crust 10. Pinch crusts together 11. Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape 12. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes 13. Turn heat to 350 degrees and bake 30-40 minutes or until crust is golden brown. 14. Allow to cool and enjoy
