These smooth and sweet pancakes are made with cooked cornmeal and milk that is delightful. They are more time intensive than regular pancakes but worth the extra work!

1/3 cup yellow corn meal
1 tsp kosher salt
2 Tbsp shortening
1 cup milk
1 egg
1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup all purpose flour
