This curry lentil soup recipe coaxes the appetite with great flavors with only a few ingredients. A delicious soup that you can pair with a crusty bread recipe. A soul-soothing bowl of delicious homemade vegetable soup, perfect for a luncheon-style family meal. There are some things you need to remember when it comes to preparing soup recipes. Onion, meat, and spices are some of the common ingredients in soup and can withstand a long period of cooking. If you add them to this recipe, do so at the beginning and simmer them low and slow to develop more flavor. Aromatics such as rosemary, cloves, parsley, and bay leaf would all be great additions to this dish. They would all enhance the flavor of the vegetable stock. Roasted onions and garlic would also be nice. You can add a cup of spinach 5 minutes before serving.

4 cups water
1 1/2 cups small red lentils
4 cups chicken stock
240 grams onion
1 garlic clove
1 tsp fresh chopped parsley
3/4 tsp cumin
1 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp coriander
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt and pepper to taste

1 - Wash and drain lentils. Set aside.

2 - In a large pot, add oil and sauté chopped onions for 5 minutes on low heat.

This crispy fried chicken sandwich recipe is better than Chik-Fil-A, Popeye's or McDonald's!
