Easy French Bread Recipe

This recipe was adapted from my friend Debbie’s recipe at MadeFromPinterest.net and it’s such an easy recipe. Easier than I thought this bread recipe was going to be. Another bonus? It’s incredibly delicious. Soft, too and puffs up nicely.

2½ cups warm water (about 110 degrees F)
¼ cup sugar
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
6 cups flour, divided
1 tablespoon salt
¼ cup olive oil
2 tablespoons yellow cornmeal
Egg wash: 1 egg yolk mixed with 1 tablespoon water (optional)
Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
