Easy Strawberry Shortcake

A fluffy cake layered with strawberries and topped with whipped cream! It’s not too sweet and perfectly light.

½ cup unsalted butter, softened
1? cup sugar
2 egg
2½ teaspoons vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk
16 ounces Whipped cream topping
¼ cup sugar
3 pounds fresh strawberries, sliced (reserve a few for decoration if you like)
