French toast that puffs up like a souffle.

1 loaf french bread
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
8 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
2/3 cups half and half
1 1/4 cups maple syrup
1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
