Frosted Strawberry Sugar Cookies

Strawberry frosted sugar cookies made with real strawberries that really enhance the flavor of the cookie. This recipe makes a large batch (36-42) cookie cut-outs. Any shape can be used. Dough can be adapted to include extract flavorings, baking chips, sprinkles and other fun baking items. Great for the Christmas or the holidays.

8 ounces cream cheese ( at room temperature )
2 cups ( 4 sticks unsalted butter, at room temperature )
2 cups granulated sugar
2 egg yolks
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
splash of almond extract
5 1/4 cups flour
2/3 cup freeze dried strawberries
3/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter ( at room temperature )
6 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
3-6 tablespoons heavy cream ( or any milk )
