Sugar cookie cups filled with a caramel sauce and topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, and sprinkles.

1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter, at room temperature (not melted)
1 large egg yolk (reserve whites for another recipe)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4-1/2 tsp. almond extract, to taste
1 and 1/4 cups all-purpose white flour
1 and 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
Caramel Sauce
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream (not whipped)
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Toppings
Vanilla ice cream
Other optional toppings: chocolate syrup, sprinkles, crushed candies, miniature chocolate chips, cherries
