Gorilla Bread

241

This bread is perfect for the holidays, Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's morning, when you want something easy for everyone to snack on throughout the morning. Gorilla bread started in our house as Monkey bread so this recipe can be revised without the cream cheese (the only difference between the two). Enjoy!

10
1 (8 oz) package of Cream Cheese
1/2 C Granulated Sugar
3 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 C (1 stick) Butter
1 C Packed Brown Sugar
2 (12 oz) cans Refrigerated Biscuits (10 count)
1 1/2 C coarsely chopped Walnuts
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray. Cut the cream cheese into 20 equal cubes. Mix the sugar and cinnamon, set aside. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar, stirring well. Once combined, set aside. Sprinkly 1/2 C of the nuts into the bottom of the pan. Press the biscuits into flat circles with your fingers. Sprinkle flat biscuit with approx. 1/2 tsp of the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place a cube of cream cheese in the center of biscuit, wrap it up and seal the dough around the cream cheese. Place 10 of the prepared biscuits in the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture. Pour half of the melted butter mixture over the biscuits. Repeat - sprinkle the remaining nuts, layer the remaining biscuits & sprinkle with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture, then the remaining butter mixture & last 1/2 C of nuts. Bake for 30 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes. Place plate on top of bundt pan & invert to serve.
