This great little cake from 1954 has a taste and texture similar to that of a rich pound cake, and is topped with a luscious caramel-y honey drizzle and toasted almonds.

Ingredients:
2 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup honey
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 eggs, at room temperature
1 egg yolk, at room temperature
3/4 cup buttermilk, at room temperature
