Lazy Morning Cinnamon Rolls

These are yeast-free cinnamon rolls reminiscent of the refrigerated cinnamon roll dough that came in the cans like Pillsbury, nostalgia from my childhood! Start to finish is only 45 minutes.

Dough

2 cups (8 1/2 ounces) All-Purpose Flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons malted milk powder, like Carnation (of you don't have it, add 1 more tablespoon brown sugar)
6 tablespoons (3 ounces) butter
1 large egg
1/4 cup milk to total (may need an extra 1-2 tablespoons milk if your dough is too dry to be cohesive)
1/2 cup King Arthur Flour Cinnamon Flavor Bites (incredible, but optional)

Filling

4 tablespoons butter, melted
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Frosting

1 cup (4 ounces) confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons real maple syrup
2 tablespoons vanilla coffee creamer, milk, cream, or apple juice, just enough to make a spreadable frosting
