Lemony Berry Crisp

A variety of berries, a kiss of lemon, and an oatmeal topping meld perfectly for that deliciously tart zing only fruit and lemon can bring.

½ C. Rolled Oats
½ C. All Purpose Flour
½ C. Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
¼ Tsp Ground Cinnamon
¼ Tsp. Ground Nutmeg
pinch of salt
½ Stick CHILLED Butter
2 C. Berries Frozen or Fresh (any type will do- or a mixed variety) rinsed, dried and cleaned of debris.
½ C. Granulated Sugar
Zest of one Lemon
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 Tbsp. All Purpose Flour
Preheat Oven to 350* and prepare 9X9 glass baking dish CRISP: Combine the sugar, flour, oats and spices in a medium sized bowl and stir to mix well. Cut in butter with a pastry cutter, two forks, or your fingers until the texture is that of coarse crumbs. Set aside FILLING: Combine all the filling ingredients in a medium sized bowl and mix well. Pour into the prepared baking dish. Spread the crisp topping evenly over the filling. Bake for 30 minutes Serve warm with ice cream!
