Mrs. Allen's Sugar Cookies

A 100+ year old sugar cookie recipe that was handed down for generations. This makes a nice soft cake like cookie perfect for dunking!

2½ cups sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon juice
3 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
pinch of salt
pinch of nutmeg
3 eggs separated
