Mrs. Wakefield's Chocolate Chip Cookies

A remake of Mrs. Wakefield's recipe who is the creator of the chocolate chip cookie. Buttery, chewy centers are surrounded by slightly crisp edges, the quintessential treat!

2-1/4 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. unsalted butter, softened
3/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. packed light brown sugar
1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. semisweet chocolate chips
