3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. orange juice
2 T. grated orange rind
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Icing:
2 1/2 T. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 T. orange juice
2 T. grated orange rind
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. orange juice
2 T. grated orange rind
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Icing:
2 1/2 T. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 1/2 T. orange juice
2 T. grated orange rind
Preheat oven to 400°. Mix shortening, sugar and egg. Stir in orange juice and rind. Stir dry ingredients together, then add shortening mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto an un-greased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes (edges may be slightly browned). Mix all ingredients together for icing. Milk can be added to make icing creamier.
