Oven-Baked Scone with Vanilla Bean Glaze

These oven-baked scones are a lightly sweet, little biscuit type cake (these are unlike the American version of a scone that’s made with yeast dough, deep fried and drizzled with honey.) These are great for breakfast any day of the week! They are delicious served warm with jam or honey!

1 ¼ c. dry oats
1 ½ c. flour
1 t. soda
½ t. salt
1/3 c. brown sugar
2/3 c. butter
½ c. buttermilk

1/2 of a vanilla bean
3 T. warm milk
1/2 – 3/4 c. powdered sugar
dash salt
Stir dry ingredients together. Cut in the butter with a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gently stir in the buttermilk. Press the dough onto a parchment lined cookie sheet into a 9”...
