Parmesan Mashed Potatoes with Carrots

At my house growing up we very seldom had mashed potatoes without carrots mashed in with them. Don’t knock it until you try it.

2 pounds potatoes peeled, chopped
1 can sliced carrots drained
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon garlic powder
6 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon pepper
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1/4 cup sour cream
1 can sliced carrots drained

Cook potatoes in large pot of salted water, boil until potatoes are fork tender, drain well.
Add drained carrots to potato pot for the last 2 minutes of cooking.
