Peanut Butter & Honey Granola Bars

One snack all my kids (okay, even my husband and myself) like are granola bars. BUT! They are soo expensive for one teeny tiny box that have like 6 bars in them. Umm … there are 6 people in this house; that box does not last long at all. Another thing I don’t like about pre-packaged granola bars are they add a ton of sugar! This is what I came up with to get rid of our pre-packaged granola bar habit. They have become a hit with the kids, they are super yummy, and they are healthy in my book!

1-1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup cereal (like Cheerios or Rice Krispies)
2 Tbsp. wheat germ
2 Tbsp. ground flax seed (or you could just use flax seed)
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup peanut butter (or you could use almond butter, cashew butter, etc.)
2 Tbsp. coconut oil (or any vegetable oil)
3/4 tsp. vanilla
1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar
