THE best breakfast I have ever had in my life! Sweet caramelized pineapple and a rich, buttery, coconut syrup. All topping a wonderful egg-y french toast. Your family will thank you for this one!

For French Toast
12 slices of bread
 
6 eggs
 
1 cup milk
 
1 teaspoon cinnamon
 
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
 
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
 
For Pineapple Compote
1/2 a fresh pineapple, cored, and diced into small bite-sized pieces
 
3/4 cup brown sugar
 
3/4 cup water
 
1 teaspoon vanilla
 
For Coconut Syrup
1/2 cup butter
 
3/4 cup buttermilk
 
1 cup sugar
 
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
 
1 teaspoon coconut extract
 
1/2 cup shredded coconut, for garnish (optional)
