Pumpkin Cake With Cream Cheese Frosting

Everyone who tries this cake absolutely loves it (or they are really good actors.) It is dense, really moist and melts in your mouth!

CAKE:
2 cups sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
4 large eggs
2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups pumpkin puree or cooked mashed pumpkin

FROSTING:
¼ cup butter
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature
1 pound powder sugar, sifted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
½ cup chopped pecans
