REALLY Strawberry Buttercream Frosting

25

A frosting that I worked for quite a while to complete. Considering the fact that it took me a ton of experimenting with one batch of icing to get the desired taste, the amounts of each ingredient may have to be tweaked. It was hard to keep track of everything that I was adding more of. Needless to say, if you wind up with the same frosting that I made, you will find yourself with something that tastes EXACTLY like a fresh strawberry.

1 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
1 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract
4 cups Confectioner's Sugar
1 cup Freeze Dried Strawberries
1/2 cup Fresh Strawberries (sliced)
1.) Puree the fresh strawberries in blender (or other processing machine) and crunch the freeze dried strawberries in a bag until powdery. 2.) Cream the butter with a mixer until fluffy. Add the confectioner's sugar a cup at a time (mixing in between). 3.) Add vanilla & 6-8 Tbsp of the strawberry puree to the butter/sugar mixture (depending on how intense you want the strawberry taste to be), then add 4-6 Tbsp of the freeze dried strawberry powder. 4.) Mix frosting until fully combined. It should not be too firm or particularly fluffy & is best after a few hours of sitting at room temperature or refrigerated.
