Red Wine, Onion & Mushroom Smothered Steak

Onions and mushrooms make a great "smother" for steak. Add red wine and it just gets better

5 tablespoons butter
1/2 Medium red onion (cut into strings)
6oz white button mushrooms (sliced)
5 cloves garlic (roasted)
salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon all purpose flour
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup merlot red wine
2 8 oz steak of choice

In a large skillet, add the butter, red onion, mushrooms, garlic and salt & pepper. Cook on medium until the onions are translucent.
