Salted Toffee Squares

The most decadent dessert ever! If you have some edible gold leaf laying around, this is the perfect place to use it!

Bottom Layer

1 1/4 c. Flour
1/4 c. confectioner’s sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened

Second Layer

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
2 Tbsp corn syrup
1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk
1/4 tsp sea salt (I like Maldon Flakes)

Top Layer

2 c. chocolate chips
edible gold leaf! (this is obviously not necessary!)
For the bottom layer, crumble all four ingredients well. Press into an ungreased 9? x 9? pan, and bake at 350º for 20 minutes.
