Sausage, Pasta and Italian Cream with Roasted Peppers
A flavorful and scrumptious weeknight meal that is very frugal. This dinner cost me $7.51 to make and feeds 4-6 portions.

6 sweet Italian sausage links
1/2 box ziti pasta (or penne)
2 cups reserved pasta water
1 - 1 1/2 cups half and half
2 cups whole tomatoes with juice
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup ricotta cheese
3 large garlic cloves - minced
3 tbsp. tomato paste
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. butter
1 large roasted red bell pepper - medium dice
1 tsp. dried parsley flakes
1/4 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp. paprika
salt and black pepper to taste

Begin by browning your sausages in a deep skillet over medium heat with the olive oil. Turn them as you go and cook about two thirds of the way or a little beyond that. Set the sausages aside.
