Slow Burn Chili
360
This delicious chili is simple to make and requires just a few ingredients. Don't let the small amounts of spices fool you - this chili has more heat than you might expect it to! My dad, who loves chili, describes it as a "slow burn" - as you continue to eat, the heat becomes more obvious. Hence the name of the recipe, Slow Burn Chili!
8
2.25 pounds ground beef
Two 29 oz. cans tomato sauce
One 15 oz can diced tomatoes with green chilies
1 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Two 29 oz. cans tomato sauce
One 15 oz can diced tomatoes with green chilies
1 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Begin by cooking the ground beef in a large skillet. Drain and discard fat. Place cooked meat in crock pot with remaining ingredients and stir until well combined. Cook on low heat for 4-6 hours. It will be good to go in 4 hours, but if you have the time (or the patience) to give it a little more time, do, as the longer everything simmers together the better it gets!
Serve topped with a sprinkle of grated cheese and crushed tortilla chips if desired.
