You'll love this homemade butter chicken (also known as chicken tikka masala) cooked in the slow cooker with an easy to make sauce. It's the perfect weeknight meal with very little hands on cooking time!

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 yellow onion, diced
1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
2 teaspoons garam masala
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cardamom, can be replaced with 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon coriander
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups chicken broth
6 ounces tomato paste
2 pounds chicken breast
1/2 cup heavy cream
3 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons corn starch
2 tablespoons water
4 cups cooked white rice
