Spiced Candied Almonds

Almonds with a sweet and spicy crunchy coating. Works great with other nuts too!

1 egg white, whisked to very frothy
1 tablespoon water
3 cups almonds
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt (less if you're using salted nuts)
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste

Marinated Taro Root

A marinated snack that can be used to replace late night bad habit cravings!

8 small taro roots
water
salt
1 cup yogurt, mixed with enough water to submerge roots (add salt)

  1. Wash the taro roots well.
  2. Slightly cut a slit into each root, but not big enough to split the root into two pieces. This will allow the water and marinade to go into the taro root
