Spiced chocolate caramel chews

These savory sweet little bite sized pieces of heaven are great for parties, holiday's, church events or other festive gatherings.

Caramel
1 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon Chinese five spice
3 tablespoons of butter
3 oz of heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chocolate
1 whole chocolate bar (or 3.5 oz)
2 oz of milk
Step 1 : set up a hot pan over med-high heat to melt the sugar, while sugar is melting add the Chinese five spice and vanilla extract cook until all sugar particles are melted and caramel is to desired darkness. Step 2 : when the caramel is done cooking add the butter this will add favor and help stop caramel from over-cooking. Whisk until fully Incorporated, next add the heavy cream and continue when finished caramel should have a dark rich looking caramel color. Step 3 : for the chocolate set up a double boiler if you do not have one a pot with a pan over it will work. put the chocolate pieces in pot with milk and stir consistently until chocolate is melted Step 4 : get and empty ice cube tray and butter the hole of the tray lay in pieces of parchment paper in the holes Step 5 : pour caramel in slots of the ice cube tray fill half way up, then add the chocolate fill a quarter of the way up you should still have a quarter of an inch from the top of the tray when finished. Step 6 : set in a chiller for about 30 minutes to an hour before serving.
