Spinach burgers

This is a great alternative to hamburgers for anyone that wants to go meatless or is just looking to try something different. These are really yummy and surprisingly filling. You can pair them with any kind of side dish - sweet potato fries are a good choice. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
4
1 box frozen chopped spinach, thawed
1 whole egg
1/4 diced onions
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 whole egg
1/4 diced onions
1/2 cup shredded cheese
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1. Strain the thawed spinach well in sink, don't dry it out completely but you don't want it too moist.
2. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.
3. Shape into even-shaped patties (not too thick in the center). Refrigerate if not going to be cooking them right away.
4. Cook over medium high heat in non-stick skillet spritzed with cooking spray until golden brown, about 4-6 minutes each side.
