You can serve this creamy garlic penne pasta recipe as a lunch, afternoon snack, or a dinner meal for the family.

Use 3/4 pounds of pasta if you want a little saucier dish. If you want this pasta recipe to be low carb, then you may use zucchini noodles. Check out this recipe about how to make delicious zucchini noodles. Zucchini noodles are a great pasta substitute.

If you are vegetarian, you can omit the pork loin. Also, using a vegetarian (rennet-free) parmesan cheese is a great idea to make this purely vegetarian. Add chicken, shrimp, salmon, or sausage to this pasta for additional protein. Peas, broccoli, and spinach will make this a little healthier. If you love bold flavors, you may use shiitake, portobello, or porcini mushrooms for a depth of mushroom flavor.

Pepperoni bread (aka pepperoni roll or stromboli) has always been a special treat for me. In my Italian family in southern New Jersey, we all savored pepperoni bread!This recipe makes enough dough for 2 loaves of pepperoni bread (you'll have to double the fillings though). So, my recommendation is to either double the "fillings" or save the other half of the dough to make a homemade pizza!

Pizza Dough:
1-1/4 c warm water
1 tsp granulated sugar
2 tsp instant yeast
2 Tbsp olive oil
3-1/2 c flour
1-1/4 tsp salt
