3 cans red beans, divided
1 smoked ham hock
1 & 1/2 cups water
2 tsp dried minced onion
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
3 tsp hot sauce – optional {such as Crystal}
6 cups cooked white rice for serving.
Pour 2 cans of beans into a dutch oven or saucepan and add all ingredients except the hot sauce and rice Simmer on medium heat for an hour, turning the ham hock about half way through. Remove from the heat...
